In the Halloween Spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a blast carving pumpkins! While we were taking pictures Megan began to whine, as usual these days, she has no patience for anything she doesn't want to be doing (hum sounds like her mother huh). So I suggested one last photo and make it crazy and here is what I got! Rich photo bombed it which makes it even funnier, I took three of these and never even saw him until after I started to show the girls the pictures. Really makes me laugh, I love that man!

New Shelves!
A couple of years ago Rich built me beautiful book shelves in our basement office. Ever since we have talked about building storage shelves next to the book shelves. He did that this weekend. We were out running errands Saturday morning and came across a huge garage sale at a local building company. They were liquidating excess or damaged items and they had a trailer full of free wood. So we decided this was too good a deal to pass up. These new shelves ended up costing us only $15.00, because we needed just a little more wood than we got. We still need to paint them but my Parents are coming for Thanksgiving. I think we might just leave the painting to the pros!

They grow up so fast!
A little over a year ago I posted pics of the girls and their haircuts and here we are a year later and they have changed so much!

Forest critters!
We made these this afternoon! The girls had fun and there was much laughter as we made fun of Cassie's Amazon woman! Mine is the one with the bushy hair and crazy face (which Aubrie drew).

Can you say "Curiosity Killed the Cat"
Cassie is almost 13 and has been loading the dishwasher for quite some time, so when I came across suds spilling out of my dishwasher I was surprised to say the least. I hollered for Cassie to come into the kitchen and promptly asked her what she put in for soap. She gave me that I'm so cute, and you know you love me, so you won't hurt me smile, and said "dish soap"! So my next question was obviously "why would you do that?" To which she replied "I just wondered what it would do!" Needless to say I hope she enjoyed cleaning this up, because I left her to it since she made the mess!
Cassie's latest Read!
At the Firefly Gate
Cassie says this book is great so far! Henry misses his old home, school, and neighborhood in London and feels out of sorts in his family's new house, a cottage in a Suffolk village. Taking a liking to an elderly, dying woman who lives nearby, he becomes intrigued by her account of life in the area during World War II, when she fell in love with an RAF pilot at a nearby air station. Coincidentally, his name was Henry, too. Past and present blur as Henry has vivid dreams of himself as a wartime pilot and sees waking visions that he gradually realizes must come from another time or place. This contemporary British novel uses historical and magical elements sparingly, and to good effect.

The Tonsils the Dr. didn't want to see
These are what Aubrie's Tonsils look like today! She is miserable and running a fever! She can't eat and can barely sleep she is in so much pain! Before you yell at me for posting such a disgusting picture let me tell you the whole story "in a nut shell because I could go back years on this one". Aubrie was bit by our cat Chester on Wednesday! It began to swell and look horrible by that evening so I took her to our Dr. Well our Dr. is actually on vacation and won't be back until this next Thursday, so we had to see his PA. Dun, dun, dun, you know what comes next right, that appointment went fine, they put Aubrie on Augmentin, and said bring her back if it starts to look worse in a couple of days and not better. Well it was gross, red streaks, ooozing puss, swelling, the works. However, by Saturday it was looking better, but then Aubrie stated complaining that her throat hurt. By the very early morning hours of Sunday she was running a low grade fever. I took her back to the same PA on Sunday and all she did was look at her arm and declare based on Aubrie's history of allergies and tonsil infections (which I should add at this point is every other month)that it must be viral, and since she is already on an antibiotic, we should give her pain meds. and benadryl, and come back when she is done with the ten days of antibiotic. I get that she couldn't do any tests because Aubrie is already on an antibiotic, but she could have at least looked and made sure they weren't abscessed (with Aubrie's history this is a very real possibility). So enjoy this horrific picture and pray for Aubrie to get well soon. As a side note we have a consultation with her ENT on Thursday to have these removed!

Jeana's internal struggles!
Have you ever seen that episode of Myth Busters where they tested whether or not fecal matter gets onto the things in your bathroom when you flush the toilet? Well I did and it has forever scarred me. According to this episode when you flush with the lid up there is fecal matter emitted into the air and rests on the things in your bathroom, like for instance your toothbrush. Since watching this I always put the lid down before I flush the toilet and I cannot leave things in the bathroom that are not meant to stay in the bathroom, for instance magazines or books. This brings me to my internal struggle if I do not allow reading materials to be in the bathroom then what am I to do when I find that what I thought was a quick trip to the bathroom turns out to need more time than I allotted. I found my self in this very conundrum this morning and was home alone with no one to call out to, to bring me something to peruse, while I awaited this call of nature to resolve itself. I suppose it is time to reevaluate my convictions and decide, which is better sitting quietly with my thoughts (which results in this ridiculous diatribe), or allowing reading material in my bathroom? Go ahead weigh in if you dare to have an opinion on this potty drivel.

Megan's 4th Grade Idaho History Program!
The Fourth graders at our school always put on the best singing, dancing and creative Idaho History program every year. Megan is following in her older sister Cassie's footsteps and tried out for the square dancing portion of the program and earned a spot! She was so cute dancing with her partner Andy.
