I know she should be reading much harder books but she loves these! Maybe in Second grade she'll choose to start reading chapter books! We did get her to start a Junie B. Jones book recently.
I think whatever she wants to read is great. My girls both still read their picture books because they LOVE them. I let them read whatever they want, as long as they have a chapter book going and they are making some sort of progress in it--like not taking a month to read it.
That is Aubrie's biggest problem she takes too long to read the chapter books because all she wants to read are her picture books! On the other hand I should say I've been so busy this summer I haven't pushed the issue much, as long as she reads I just don't care these days! It's only mom guilt that forces me to write things like that in my posts! Hehe! Thanks for the reassurance!
